Another two chapters down

Today I read chapters four and five to the children - The bell and the hammer, and The Deplorable Word. We’ve fallen by the wayside on our story re-telling already, haven’t got round to that, but never mind. The kids are all enjoying it, they *asked* for it to be read pretty much first thing this morning. I’m still finding the reading out loud hard work though.

  1. I’m enjoying the blog, but you deserve a medal for the reading aloud. It’s such a mindlessly slow way of reading a book. I’ve got one eye on the left hand page, while the other is already at the end of the right hand page, waiting for my voice to catch up. I need to try harder in this area. :-)

  2. I quite like reading out loud, I don’t read any faster to myself anyway so I suppose it makes no difference but I have such an apreciative audiance that it makes it quite fun.

  3. I’ve got into reading allowed by performing, voices only of course - and making myself not read ahead :)
If i perform it, i get really into it.
